Kilpatrick Beach, Wexford

Kilpatrick Beach, 20th May 2018

Stripes of white in black, red in wine, stains of pink and golden rings hiding treasures in cold stones.

Sand drifts from mounatin dunes, throwing gold ridges over a shadowed floor.

Vanilla scent of gorse, salty tongue from sea. A gold coast stretch.

A canopy of endless grey,  six legs and hardened back, shelter in shadow of stone,

and the white line trodden down beneath the zig-zagged soul.
