Washed Up is a photography project which captures the beauty found on the beaches and coastline of Ireland. Featuring abstract images, close ups and views. It focuses on the natural elements and does not feature rubbish items. The aim is to focus on the natural beauty and not to celebrate the litter and waste caused by humans. By focusing attention on the intricate details of the natural debris that the seas and oceans washes up; patterns, textures and interaction with light, our minds can be transported into a world of imagination and wonder. In so doing, we can contemplate our place in the world and how the actions of our species affect the world.
