A Moment Of Truth

You just had to have me
there was no saying no
I satisfied your craving
and then you let me go

Disposable empty and used
you had to let me down easy
not throw me to the ground
as someone would surely see

So here on the windowsill
I was deposited in clandestine
movement of a nonchalant
unnoticed outstretched arm

While waiting for your return
my pointless pursuit of hope
I have my moment of truth
realising, I am just your trash.
