The darkness persisted, staying after i lifted my lids. I heard time ticking but did not care to know embracing the darkness as it held me,nou mutual acceptance daytime daytime hours or midnightht moment, it mattered not. The eternal counting of time in ticks, our song we laid together, darkness and me, hoping it would never end knowing that when light light creeps through curtain cracks we could maintain our beautiful union, and shut out ther light and let the day tick past as shut eyes repel the life. -Ciaran Burke

The road rambles into the decline,
One way to go, nowhere else to be.
The fresh water hurries to meet the sand, to wash with it to the sea.
Golden stretch in stone green embrace beneath a blanket of grey,
Torn to reveal a flash of blue,
and a golden promise behind the hill.
