Castletown Beach, Co. Sligo

Built by a forefather, the stone gable unmoved
iron eaten by salt, torn by wind.
Below, he rounded stones defend the sand from
thieving waves that steal the precious grains, a battle
lost in time.
white sand slopes to darker grey and seaweed clad
rocks lie in pools, waiting for the salty wash to
engulf them again.
